
Vinícius: Footballer of the Year
The official FIFA The Best 2024 ceremony took place on December 17.
During the event, the winners of several categories were announced, including Best Men’s Player, Best Women’s Player, Best Goalkeeper, Best Women’s Team Goalkeeper, Best Men’s Team Coach, and Best Women’s Team Coach, among others. In total, awards were presented in 11 categories.
Best Men’s player of the Year:
Vinícius Júnior (Real Madrid, Brazil)
The Brazilian footballer surpassed the following contenders in the voting: Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé, Dani Carvajal, Federico Valverde (all from Real Madrid), Lionel Messi (Inter Miami), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Erling Haaland, Rodri (both from Manchester City), Florian Wirtz (Bayer), and Toni Kroos.
The award was based on players’ performances between August 21, 2023, and August 10, 2024. The winner was determined through a voting process involving national team captains and coaches, fans, and media representatives.

Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid)
