Eurasian Basketball League to be held in Yerevan
The international tournament of the Eurasian Basketball League for the Yerevan Mayor’s Cup will be held from February 16 to 21 at the “Sport Development Center” in Yerevan. This was announced during a press conference by Karen Giloyan, President of the Eurasian League and President of the “Urartu” club.
The prize fund amounts to 6 million AMD.
Teams from various countries will participate in the tournament, including Georgia’s “Orbi,” Lebanon’s “Hoops,” America’s “Pilot,” and Kazakhstan’s “Barsy,” as well as the Armenian clubs “Hatis,” “Urartu,” and “Erebuni.” In total, 7 teams are participating in the championship.
According to Giloyan, this tournament will provide Armenian teams with an opportunity to gain experience for international-level games and assess their competitiveness against other teams. If the teams perform well, participation in larger international tournaments, such as the Champions League or the EuroCup, is planned for the next stage.
