2027 European U21 Karate Championship to be held in Armenia
The 54th European Karate Championship for under-21s will be held in Armenia in 2027. This information was released by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (MESCS).
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 53rd U21 Championship held in Limassol, Cyprus. During the ceremony, Jiri Bocek, Vice President of the European Karate Federation, handed over the flag to Vazgen Harutyunyan, President of the National Karate Federation of Armenia.
Representing the Armenian national team at the championship were Davit Poghosyan, Nane Harutyunyan, Narek Sargsyan, Aram Karapetyan, Gor Musheghyan, Erik Poghosyan, Aren Abgaryan, Alen Grigoryan, Alvard Davtyan, Gevorg Hakobyan, Taron Petrosyan, Hovik Vardanyan, Emanuel Gasparyan, Alen Gevorgyan, and Suren Kosakyan.
The Ministry also recalled that in May 2025, Armenia hosted the 60th European Karate Championship for seniors, which saw the participation of around 1,000 athletes from 54 countries.
