Members of the Armenian national athletics team win the Balkan Championships
Members of the Armenian national athletics team, Gor Hovakimyan and Yervand Mkrtchyan, have emerged victorious at the Balkan Indoor Athletics Championships held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.
Triple jumper Gor Hovakimyan recorded a result of 16.66 meters, securing the first position. Runner Yervand Mkrtchyan won the gold medal in the 1500-meter race with a time of 3:42.29 minutes. The athletes were presented with their awards by the President of the Armenian Athletic Federation, Robert Emmiyan.
Razmik Ghazaryan recorded a result of 16.21 meters in the triple jump, setting a personal best on the international stage and meeting the standard for the Master of Sports.
Samvel Gevorgyan, Gor Harutyunyan, Roman Aleksanyan, and Styopa Andreasyan also participated in the tournament. Triple jumper Levon Aghasyan, who recently became a silver medalist at an international tournament in Kazakhstan, was also scheduled to participate in the Balkan Indoor Athletics Championships; however, due to ill health, Aghasyan missed the championships held in Belgrade.
