Gor Sahakyan Becomes European Weightlifting Champion
In the 73 kg weight category, Armenia’s youth weightlifting team representative, Gor Sahakyan, won the gold medal at the European Under-23 Championship with a combined total of 320 kg (140+180 kg).
In the snatch event, Sahakyan successfully completed one lift, holding 140 kg overhead, earning him a bronze medal in this discipline. In the clean and jerk, he successfully lifted 175 kg and then 180 kg in two attempts.
By winning two gold medals in the total and the clean and jerk, he surpassed second-place finisher Konrad Lazuga by 11 kg.
