Fastex APL: Solid Victories in Round 13 – “Urartu” Continues to Lead

The matches of Round 13 of the 2024/25 season of the Fastex Armenian Premier League took place from October 26 to 28.

The round kicked off on October 26 at the “Urartu” stadium, where the home team faced “Ararat.” The match ended with a narrow victory for “Urartu” (1-0), thanks to a winning goal by “Urartu” defender Erik Simonyan in the 35th minute.

The second match of the round took place at the “Junior Sport” stadium, where the league’s bottom teams, “Gandzasar” and “West Armenia,” faced off. “West Armenia” emerged victorious with a 1-0 score, with Haji Drame scoring the winning goal in the 50th minute.

Meanwhile, in Abovyan, “Alashkert” faced “BKMA.” The home team scored twice, sending two unanswered goals into the army team’s net, with Sargis Metoyan securing a brace.

One of the round’s central games also took place at the “Junior Sport” stadium. Yerevan’s “Pyunik” narrowly defeated “Van” from Charentsavan at home, with the sole goal scored by “the Reds'” defender James dos Santos Neves in the 13th minute. This victory marked Yegishe Melikyan’s 100th win as head coach of “Pyunik.”

The highlight of the round was held at the FFA Technical Center, where “Ararat-Armenia” hosted “Noah.” Rui Mota’s team triumphed in this away game with a score of 1-0, as Helder Ferreira netted the winning goal in the 19th minute.

After the game, Rui Mota mentioned that “Ararat-Armenia’s” assistant coach struck him on the way to the locker room. “Ararat-Armenia” released an official statement expressing regret over the incident and hoping for a resolution.

“Noah” responded to the statement, thanking “Ararat-Armenia” and wishing for fair and beautiful football.
