“Pyunik” Joins Demand for FFA President’s Resignation

Following Armenia’s 0-2 home loss to North Macedonia in the UEFA Nations League C Division, Group D, the FAF movement (First Armenian Front) has demanded the resignation of FFA President Armen Melikbekyan.

Fan movements of Armenian clubs are also calling for the FFA president’s resignation. However, the FFA has stated that there is no discussion about the president’s resignation.

“Pyunik” has joined the fan clubs in this demand. The club fully agrees with the concerns raised by the national team’s fan movements, such as FAF and Red Eagles, along with supporters from other clubs.

In recent years, growing concerns have emerged not only about the underwhelming performances of Armenia’s national and youth teams but also regarding widespread issues in grassroots and youth football, as well as the current state of Armenian club football. Five clubs have ceased operations, the Professional League project was not implemented, and matches in the Armenian Premier League (HPL) are scheduled during working hours on weekdays, contributing to a deteriorating environment. Consequently, football in Armenia is experiencing degradation at both club and national levels, leading to a critical situation.

The club has called on Premier League clubs not to remain silent, to evaluate the work of the FFA leadership, and to express their stance.
