Armenia Wins Its Eighth Gold Medal at the European U20 and U23 Weightlifting Championships
In Raszyn, Poland, Armenian weightlifters continue to secure medals.
At the U23 European Championships, Suren Grigoryan won the gold medal in the 89 kg weight category. In the snatch event, he lifted 157 kg overhead, earning a small gold medal.
Grigoryan also won a small gold medal in the clean and jerk by lifting 193 kg overhead. With a total score of 350 kg in the biathlon, he became the champion. In the same weight category, Mnatsakan Abrahamyan claimed the bronze with a combined score of 343 kg (152 kg + 191 kg).
In Poland, the Armenian junior and youth team has already won 12 medals: 8 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze.
The gold medalists are Emma Poghosyan, Narek Mkrtchyan, Anna Amroyan, Alexandra Grigoryan, Zhora Grigoryan, Garnik Cholakyan, Gor Sahakyan, and Suren Grigoryan. The silver medal was won by Rafik Minasyan. Bronze medalists include Karen Margaryan, Valerik Movsisyan, and Mnatsakan Abrahamyan.
