
Military World Championships: Armenia has won 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals
The World Wrestling Championships for Military Athletes are underway at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex.
Two Armenian athletes, Gaspar Terteryan and Suren Aghajanyan, became gold medalists. In the Greco-Roman 67 kg weight category, Terteryan defeated Iran’s representative, Chouvan Ali, in the final. The Armenian wrestler secured an early victory with a score of 11:0.
In the 60 kg category, Suren Aghajanyan triumphed over a North Korean opponent with a 3:3 score, winning due to criteria.
In the women’s competition, Ellen Babajanyan claimed a silver medal in the 53 kg weight category, defeating Kyrgyzstan’s Ouyundari with a score of 8:7. Bronze medals were awarded to Hratchya Poghosyan in the 63 kg category, who beat a Colombian opponent 8:0, and Ashot Khachatryan in the 77 kg category, who defeated Jordan’s Amro Abedi with a score of 9:1.
