Yerevan and Rostov-on-Don: New Prospects for Cooperation through Deepening Inter-City Ties

An official delegation led by the Mayor of Rostov-on-Don of the Russian Federation, Alexander Skryabin, has arrived in Yerevan, initiating meetings with the capital’s leadership to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation and new directions for joint programs.

As Mayor Tigran Avinyan noted, over the years, Yerevan and Rostov-on-Don have successfully implemented a number of joint programs in various sectors, but today there is ample room to include new areas of cooperation and update programs that will contribute to the development of both cities and the improvement of the quality of life of citizens.

The main goal of the meetings is to deepen the existing ties between the cities, create new initiatives, and implement joint programs that raise the quality of life for residents.

In addition to the capital’s leadership, the Consul General of the RA in Rostov-on-Don, Levon Minasyan, is also participating in the negotiation process on the Armenian side.

The representative composition of the Rostov delegation, which includes the Chairman of the local Armenian community, Harutyun Surmalyan, and the ethnic Armenian deputy of the city council, Gevorg Grigoryan, points to new prospects for not only socio-economic but also intercultural cooperation between the parties.

Tomorrow, the Russian delegates will also have business meetings and cultural visits.

The presence of a representative composition from both sides speaks of the readiness for profound cooperation, the details of which will be revealed during practical steps.
