Belarus will acquire the Russian “Oreshnik” missile system, which is said to be undetectable

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to deploy new weapon systems in the republic, including the “Oreshnik” missile system.

President Putin noted that the “Oreshnik” missile system would be integrated into the Russian Armed Forces’ strategic missile forces in Belarus, but the targets for the system would be determined by Minsk.

Putin also added that the system would soon complement the armaments of both the Russian and Belarusian militaries. Putin believes that the deployment of the “Oreshnik” in Belarus could take place in the second half of next year.

On November 19, the Ukrainian side launched six ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles towards the Bryansk region. In response, the Russian side deployed its new “Oreshnik” missile system. It is noted that this missile system is undetectable due to its ability to strike at speeds of 2.5 to 3 kilometers per second.
