Tragic accident occurs during car racing tournament
Today, on February 1, a tragic incident occurred during a car racing tournament organized by the “Armenian Automobile Federation” in the Ararat Province.
A 30-year-old driver of a Mitsubishi vehicle overturned on the road to the Azat Reservoir, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding the accident. The area has been cordoned off, and the vehicle has been moved to the specially protected area of the Artashat Police Department.
The deceased was not a participant in the Off-Road-Trophy Sprint 2026 tournament and was present at the event as a spectator.
As a result of the car crash, another person was transported to the “Erebouni” Medical Center. Their identity has not yet been established.
