In the Syunik region, the road leading to historic Old Goris has been renovated.

On October 30, the Vienne Garden Square (France) was inaugurated in Goris, and Tumanyan Street in Goris, along with the road to historic Old Goris, was officially opened. This was reported by the Syunik Regional Administration. A floral tribute was also made at the cross-stone honoring France’s national hero, Missak Manouchian.

At the end of the day, Goris residents and visitors traveled along the newly renovated road to Old Goris, where a celebration was held, featuring an exhibition of local products and a concert program. Each village in the community had its own pavilion, presenting traditional dishes and handcrafted items. As part of the concert program, the caves of Old Goris were illuminated.

A total of 587 million 373 thousand drams was allocated to the community for the two road renovation projects, with 365 million 431 thousand drams funded by the state. The community covered the remaining expenses.

The event was attended by a delegation from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, the French Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, the governor and other administration members, as well as heads of Syunik communities, regional law enforcement leaders, and others.
