Protests against COP29 are taking place in Georgia
In parallel with the climate COP29 summit being held in Azerbaijan, protests are taking place in Georgia, led by Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg.
Thunberg, with several other activists, has stated that Azerbaijan is not deserving of hosting climate negotiations due to its repressive policies and accusations of ethnic cleansing. She pointed out that the Caspian Sea country has used the summit to cover up its human rights violations and atrocities.
Thunberg had previously announced that she would not participate in COP29 due to the climate and human rights situation in Azerbaijan.
