Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Georgia has come to an end
The official meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze has ended. The sides discussed the Armenian-Georgian regional relations, discussed the deepening of cooperation in economic, political, educational and other spheres.
We welcome the positive progress in the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and are ready to play our role in ensuring regional peace, -Kobakhidze said.
Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia and Georgia mutually respect each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. He noted that this factor is important for the establishment of stability and long-term peace in the South Caucasus.
I should note that during the negotiations with Azerbaijan within the framework of the demarcation and demarcation process we managed to register some progress. Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to be guided by the provisions of the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration in the further process of border demarcation, which means that the administrative borders of the states of the Soviet Union should be the basis of this process, – Pashinyan noted.
Nikol Pashinyan also spoke about the provisions of the peace agreement. He noted that Azerbaijan was proposed to sign the provisions of the document in the nearest future. In Pashinyan’s opinion, the beneficiaries of this peace are not only Armenia and Azerbaijan, but also the neighboring states.
