An International Warrant Issued for Nver Tsarukyan
On January 23, 2025, the court decided to apply detention as a preventive measure against Nver Tsarukyan, the son of Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party. An international warrant has been issued for his arrest. Security personnel associated with Tsarukyan have also been found guilty in the same case. They are accused of hooliganism and robbery involving the use of weapons at a casino in the town of Tsaghkadzor on October 26, 2024.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, within the framework of the criminal proceedings, charges have been filed against Tsarukyan’s security staff for committing robbery with prior agreement as part of a group by damaging property protection measures, as well as assisting the perpetrator of the crime. Nver Tsarukyan is accused of incitement to commit robbery with prior agreement as part of a group, hooliganism involving the use of weapons, and illegal possession of firearms.
Earlier, the Investigative Committee reported that criminal proceedings had been initiated against 5 individuals, with court orders issued for their detention and search warrants declared. 3 of the bodyguards have been arrested. However, Nver Tsarukyan remains at large. According to his lawyer, Tsarukyan, a shareholder in “Multi Group,” had left on a pre-scheduled business trip from Belarus to Russia and back, after which he plans to return to Armenia.
