Arrests Made in Zovuni on Charges of Planting Marijuana Packages
Police in the village of Zovuni, Kotayk Province, have uncovered a case of drug trafficking, in connection with which two young men were arrested on suspicion of drug circulation and distribution.
The police report that two 26-year-old young men—residents of the city of Abovyan and the community of Byureghavan—were transferred to the Nairi Community Police Division.
During the search of the resident of Abovyan, 14 packages with a total weight of approximately 27 grams were discovered; the individual admitted that the contents of the packages were marijuana. The young man stated that he had acquired the drugs via the internet and was supposed to plant them (hide them for distribution) in Zovuni in exchange for money.
A folding knife was also found during the search of the other young man, the resident of Byureghavan. According to the police, the detainees and the prepared documents have already been submitted to the preliminary investigation body, where the investigation will continue.
