A former official of the Ministry of Defense is accused of embezzling 106 million 300 thousand AMD
A criminal case involving former Ministry of Defense official G.A. and his accomplices, including K.P., A.A., the director of a public organization and owner of the “dasaran.am” trademark S.A., and the director of a limited liability company A.B., has been submitted to the Anti-Corruption Court. They are accused of embezzling 106 million 300 thousand AMD from the state budget. A property claim has been filed against the defendants in court to recover the damages caused to the state.
The investigation revealed that between 2019 and 2021, fake handover-acceptance acts, invoices, and other documents were created and circulated within the framework of contracts concluded between the Ministry of Defense and a private company, as a result, the state budget suffered significant financial losses.
On January 7, 2025, the prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution within the case. Specifically:
— G.A. has been charged with large-scale embezzlement (Article 179, Part 3, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code), committing and inciting official forgery (Article 314, Part 1, and Article 38-314, Part 1).
— A.B., S.A., K.P., and A.A. have been charged with aiding official forgery and embezzlement.
