Donald Trump Holds Phone Call with Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia
Former U.S. President Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia.
Donald Trump reaffirmed his support for the Armenians of Artsakh, also expressing his commitment to peace in the region.
The Catholicos expressed hope that, under the new administration, the United States would seriously address the Artsakh issue. Specifically, he mentioned the need for the U.S. to advocate for the right of return for Armenians to Artsakh, to provide international guarantees for their security and status, and to ensure accountability for acts of ethnic cleansing.
Holy See of Cilicia also highlighted the expectation for a strong Armenian presence under the new administration and emphasized the importance of open dialogue with the Armenian Apostolic Church’s Eastern and Western Dioceses of America and the Armenian National Committee of America.
