The 2025 Budget of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry Will Exceed the 2024 Budget by 89%
Armenia aims to improve its position particularly in microelectronics and robotics. This was announced by Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan at the joint session of the Standing Committees of the National Assembly during the preliminary discussions on the 2025 State Budget.
Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan presented the expenses for the upcoming year. The state budget will allocate 47.5 billion drams for the expenses of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, marking an 89% increase over the previous year’s budget.
With a budget of 47.5 billion drams, the ministry will implement 5 programs and 20 initiatives. For the “Development of State Policy, Program Coordination, and Monitoring in High Technologies, Defense Industry, Digitalization, Cybersecurity, Innovative Technologies, Communications, Postal Services, Internet, and Space Sectors” initiative, 1 billion 15 million drams will be allocated in 2025.
The High-Tech Industry Ecosystem and Market Development program is allocated 32 billion 810 million drams.
For the “Market Development and International Cooperation” initiative, 345 million drams will be allocated, while the “Entrepreneurship Technology Ecosystem” initiative will receive 748.5 million drams. Additionally, 29 billion drams are allocated to provide state support to commercial organizations and individual entrepreneurs operating in the information technology sector.
