Nursery Services to be Piloted in 2025
In 2025, nursery services will be piloted in 10 preschools located in Yerevan, Vanadzor, Gyumri, and Hrazdan. This announcement was made by Zhanna Andreasyan. Parents are interested in enrolling children aged 0-2 years in kindergartens, and according to the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, some are eager for nursery enrollment to start as early as six months.
To implement the program, steps are being taken to improve space, set standards for nutrition, and establish care guidelines in kindergartens.
Speaking about kindergartens, the minister also noted progress in the field of inclusive education for children with special educational and developmental needs. While in 2022, there were 92 children with such needs in all of Armenia’s kindergartens, the ministry is currently funding preschool education for around 1,550 children.
