Salaries of Emergency Medical Staff to Be Reviewed, Licensing Requirements for Medical Organizations to Be Tightened

In a press conference summarizing the activities of 2024, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan discussed the work done by her department and the upcoming initiatives. The minister spoke about the chickenpox vaccine, licensing requirements for medical organizations, and other topics.

According to the minister, the batch of chickenpox vaccines has been delivered to Armenia, but it has not yet been accepted. The vaccine will undergo thorough examination.

The minister assured that the implementation of the vaccines would begin in February.

The next significant step, according to the minister, is the revision of the licensing regulations for medical organizations, including surgical, ambulatory, cosmetic, and other services. The requirements will be tightened. The minister emphasized that cosmetic and plastic surgery services in Armenia are well-developed and are considered a key component of medical tourism. The Ministry prioritizes these sectors.

Avanesyan also spoke about the review of emergency medical staff salaries. In 2024, the northern part of Armenia was served by a newly established operational management center in Gyumri. This year, the unified emergency service will expand to cover the entire republic.
