Patrol officers uncover case of drug trafficking
The Police report that on February 7, after midnight, the Patrol Service stopped a Chevrolet vehicle on Rubinyants Street for a traffic violation.
In a visible part of the car, the patrol officers noticed packages of various sizes wrapped in adhesive tape. The driver and the passenger did not comply with the legal demands of the officers, showed resistance, and attempted to flee, during which the passenger threw a crystal-like substance out of his pocket.
It was established that the driver is a 33-year-old resident of Brnakot village in the Syunik province, and the passenger is a 34-year-old resident of the town of Sisian. A personal search of the driver revealed a mass resembling marijuana.
Both individuals were arrested, and in the vehicle, which was transported to the Avan Department of the Community Police, 155 packages of a mass resembling marijuana with a total weight of 391.45 grams were found.
