Diesel fuel stolen from military unit: the accused are officials
A case of diesel fuel embezzlement has been uncovered in a military unit, within the framework of which several officials have been held criminally liable. The investigation revealed that the deputy commander of the battalion, instead of registering a surplus of 700 liters of diesel fuel into the warehouse, decided to sell it, involving the platoon commander of the same military unit.
The fuel was transported out of the military unit’s territory and sold, and the proceeds were divided among the participants. Later, an attempt was made to remove another approximately 2 tons of diesel fuel from the unit in the same manner; however, the criminal act was not completed, as law enforcement officers uncovered the crime.
Charges have been filed against the deputy commander of the battalion, the storekeeper, the platoon commander, and the buyer of the fuel. House arrest has been applied as a preventive measure against the latter. During the pre-trial investigation, the damage caused to the state was fully recovered.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings has been completed, and the case, along with the indictment, has been sent to the RA Anti-Corruption Court.
