New Phase of Turkey-Armenia-Azerbaijan Relations Discussed at the Orbeli Forum
During the Orbeli 2025 Forum, participants discussed opportunities for establishing peace in the South Caucasus, developing cooperation among the countries, and opening routes to Nakhichevan.
According to Ermenihaber, Oğuzhan Akyener, President of “TESPAM” from Turkey, who participated in the “Orbeli 2025” international conference held in Yerevan on November 4-5, noted that in recent years, Turkey has attempted to involve Armenia in a format that is simultaneously integrated into the system of relations with Azerbaijan. According to him, relations are now improving, and the potential visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Armenia depends on whether relations will be brought to the required level. Akyener stressed that the process of regional integration and peace has begun and will be beneficial not only for the three countries but also for the entire region. The issues related to Nakhichevan and logistics routes will also be solved.
The forum continued for several days, and today, the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus was discussed. Participants emphasized that the ongoing processes between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey are creating new opportunities for not only political but also economic and cultural cooperation. It was also discussed how countries in Asia, the Middle East, and the EU can assist in ensuring the region’s stability and economic growth.
