“The ‘Peace Crossroads’ project is gradually acquiring global significance in addition to its regional importance,” said Nikol Pashinyan

On October 12, the conference titled “Peace Crossroads: Uniting Security and Democracy” took place, during which the peace treaty to be signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan was discussed.

Nikol Pashinyan delivered a speech at the conference. He mentioned that the signing of the treaty is gradually gaining global significance, beyond its regional importance. In this context, the Russo-Ukrainian war was touched upon. The sanctions currently imposed on Russia have created significant difficulties for the East-West bilateral trade. As a result, many global superpowers and developed countries are facing the challenge of finding new routes for the flow of goods.

According to the Prime Minister, more than 70 percent of Armenia’s territories remain unused and are not contributing to the facilitation of goods flow. One of the main purposes of the ‘Peace Crossroads’ program is to address this issue and dedicate Armenia’s territory to servicing economic flows.

The “Peace Crossroads” project was first introduced by Armenia in Georgia during the “Silk Road” conference.
