Venezuelan President Accuses Elon Musk of Attempting a Coup in the Country
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has accused American entrepreneur Elon Musk of financing an attempted coup in the country.
The president claimed that Musk invested around $1 billion in a coup, a fascist uprising, and violence against Venezuela’s electoral process. The American has not responded to Maduro’s accusations.
Maduro has blocked the use of X (formerly Twitter) in the country, stating that Musk has used it to call for violence, a coup, and murder. Notably, X was also blocked for 10 days in August.
Maduro also mentioned that the U.S. government is behind the coup attempt.
It is worth noting that on July 28, presidential elections were held in Venezuela, where Maduro won with 51.95% of the vote.
