A 22-year-old Armenian woman elected as a council member in Brussels

Anna Hovsepyan, a 22-year-old Belgian-Armenian, has been elected as a council member in Brussels.

She is the first Armenian to be elected as a member of the Brussels municipal council. Our compatriot secured the third-highest score in her party’s list.

The election took place on October 13. Anna Hovsepyan ran under the 49th position for the “Reformist Movement” party.

Earlier, the Armenian had addressed the role of the Belgian-Armenian community in the country’s local elections on her Instagram platform. The Armenian Committee of Belgium emphasized the importance of Armenians’ presence in the country’s various institutions.
