270 displaced families from Artsakh have been issued certificates
270 families forcibly displaced from Artsakh have received certificates for the acquisition of housing, construction, and the repayment of existing mortgage loans. This was reported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia.
Within the framework of the program, each family member receives financial assistance from 2 to 5 million drams. The first phase includes the following families:
• Families with 3 or more minor children who wish to purchase an apartment or house.
• Families with 2 minor children who wish to build a house.
• Families with a deceased or breadwinner-lost member, or a member with a 1st or 2nd degree disability, who wish to purchase or build a house.
• Families with an existing mortgage, in which case the support will be directed toward repaying the existing mortgage.
• Any other type of family that is considered creditworthy and will receive at least 50% of the additional loan amount as support from the bank.
However, there are several requirements for participating in the program. Applicants must have been displaced from Artsakh after September 27, 2020, be citizens of Armenia, and not own any property. They must also not be beneficiaries of the state housing affordability programs for families displaced from specific regions of Artsakh or the state support programs for housing in border settlements.
The process is still ongoing.
