The residents of a hazardous building have been relocated

57 families residing in buildings 10 and 10/1 of the 4th lane of Artsakh Street in Yerevan have been relocated. They received housing purchase certificates or new apartments from the existing housing stock.

This was reported by Vahan Khachatryan, head of the Real Estate Management Department of the Yerevan Municipality, during an operational meeting of the municipality.

5 families remain in the mentioned buildings, as they did not agree with the legal requirements presented by us and made unrealistic demands. Due to the lack of solutions after numerous meetings and discussions, their data has been submitted to the Yerevan Development Investment Program (DIP) to recognize the area as a redevelopment zone.

The relocation issue of the residents of the hazardous buildings on Artsakh Street has been under discussion since 2018. In total, 85 families live in the Category 4 emergency dormitory building at address 8, 4th Lane of Artsakh Street. It was proposed to implement the relocation in two phases. Priority was given to families with young children and those with disabilities, followed by other families through a lottery system.
