Around 400 toys destroyed in Armenia in 2025

During 2025, approximately 400 toys were destroyed in Armenia. This was announced by Armen Kotolyan, the head of the RA Market Surveillance Inspection Body, during a press conference summarizing its activities.

According to him, in the sectors of toys, low-voltage equipment, products intended for children and adolescents, as well as the assurance of uniformity of measurements, the main risk is attributed to the sale of products on the market without proper labeling and conformity documents.

In 2025, 111 inspections were carried out in these sectors, resulting in 83 recorded non-compliances.

Kotolyan informed that 21 samples were taken from toys presented by 14 economic operators, 4 of which were found to have violations of safety indicators.

The expert examination was conducted in the laboratory of the inspection body, as a result of which around 400 toys were destroyed.

The head of the inspection body emphasized that such an examination was implemented in Armenia for the first time and will continue to be carried out in 2026.
