Journalist denied entry to Armenia; NSS provides details

The WarGonzo editorial office has announced that the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia (NSS) denied entry to their special correspondent Dmitry Seleznyov, categorizing him as a person posing a threat to state security and public order. WarGonzo was founded by Semyon Pegov, who actively covered the 2020 Armenian-Azerbaijani war.

According to the source, Seleznyov arrived in Yerevan with his family for a vacation in November 2025, but was denied entry to the Republic of Armenia at “Zvartnots” airport.

According to the statement released by WarGonzo, the editorial office received an official response from the RA NSS regarding the entry ban on journalist Dmitry Seleznyov.

The NSS response states that the journalist’s entry was denied based on clauses of the Law “On Foreigners.” Accordingly, one of the clauses refers to cases where there is grounded data that a person is linked to an organization that poses a threat to state security, constitutional order, or defense capability. The next clause provides for the denial of entry if there are other serious and grounded threats directed against state security or public order.

The WarGonzo editorial office suggests that the decision may be related to Seleznyov’s journalistic activities and his visits to and coverage of the region during the 2020 Artsakh war. The publication also notes that they view the ban as a restriction on the activities of the entire project.

At the same time, the editorial office emphasized that the situation does not change their attitude toward Armenia and the Armenian people.
