13% to 1% in two weeks. Will the single ticketing system be delayed again?

Yerevan city council has already postponed the introduction of the unified ticket system twice. It was decided that the unified ticket system will be launched in Yerevan from January 1.

On September 23, during the regular administrative meeting of the Yerevan Municipality, Mayor Tigran Avinyan expressed concern about the numbers registered in the metro, announcing that appropriate work should be done to increase these numbers.

The experience of the metro shows that certain restrictions should also be introduced in the interim in buses and trolleybuses as well, the mayor stated.

The interesting thing is that according to the data of September 9, the number of those who paid cashless in the metro with the help of the Tellcell application was 13%, and now that number has reached only 1%. In general, a little more than 2 percent of the passengers of the route transport paid cashless for using the transport.

Director of “Yerevan Bus” CJSC Beglar Kirakosyan said that 44,341 out of 1,888,314 passengers used the unified ticket system in one week. 100,509 passengers used the city transport of “Electratransport” CJSC, of ​​which 1,721 paid electronically.

K. Babken Sedrakyan, the acting director of the metro named after Demirchyan, reported that the volume of passenger transportation in the metro was 560,715 passengers, against the planned 544,133. 118,250 passengers used the “Tellcel”l payment system, which is 21% of the total number.
