Garik Karapetyan is the European U23 Champion
The Armenian national weightlifting team has won its sixth gold medal at the European Junior and Under-23 Championships taking place in Durrës, Albania.
On the last competition day, Garik Karapetyan achieved a brilliant result in the 110 kg weight category. In the Snatch exercise, he lifted 175 and 182 kg, becoming the gold medalist. In the Clean and Jerk exercise, he lifted 210 and 215 kg, taking second place. With a total result of 397 kg in the Total (Biathlon), Karapetyan was declared the European U23 Champion.
Another representative of the Armenian national team, Petros Petrosyan, recorded a result of 221 kg in the Clean and Jerk exercise and won a small gold medal.
With this victory, the Armenian team has reached 6 gold medals at the European Championship, strengthening its position among the strongest teams in the tournament.
