Mass hacking of WhatsApp accounts reported: media experts issue warning
Media expert Samvel Martirosyan warns that WhatsApp accounts are being hacked on a massive scale, though the method remains unclear for now. Martirosyan emphasizes that specialists are trying to understand how already compromised accounts can be recovered.
“There is a mass hacking underway, but it is still unclear how. The recovery process is not working yet; the codes are not being received. For those whose accounts haven’t been hacked yet, urgently enable two-step verification to prevent being compromised,” Martirosyan stated.
He also explained via video the steps to be taken to avoid this problem. For smartphones operating on Android, users should access the three-dot menu, go to “Settings,” and then create a password. On iOS devices, it is necessary to go to “Settings,” then “Account,” activate “Two-Step Verification,” and set a password.
