Nami Mikoyan, Mother of Musician Stas Namin, Has Passed Away
The press service of the Union of Armenians of Russia reports that Nami Mikoyan, a historian-musicologist, journalist, and author of the memoir book “Through Their Eyes,” has died at the age of 97.
Mikoyan studied and graduated with honors from the Yerevan Conservatory, and was raised in the family of Grigory Harutyunyan, the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Armenia. She was the wife of Lieutenant General of USSR Aviation Alexey Mikoyan, the son of Soviet state and political figure Anastas Mikoyan. Rock musician Stas Namin took his creative pseudonym from his mother’s name.
