Papoyan discussed Amulsar, ski resort projects, and the construction of a solar power plant
The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, has announced that out of the $750 million planned for the Amulsar gold mine operation project, approximately $550 million has already been invested. According to him, mining operations are expected to commence this year.
The Minister also informed that the construction of two major ski resorts is ongoing. Within the framework of the “Myler” project, $73 million out of the $80 million invested has already been spent. He noted that the project’s investors are in negotiations with several international hotel chains.
At the same time, the investment projects for the ski resort being built in the Aragatsotn region and the “World Trade Center” business center, planned for the site of the main post office building on Saryan Street in Yerevan, are still in their preliminary stages.
According to Papoyan, there is currently no progress in the construction of the 200-megawatt “Ayg-1” solar power plant, which is to be implemented by the UAE-based company “Masdar.” The Minister noted that the project is delayed, and several financial issues need to be resolved before construction can begin.
