Criminal proceedings initiated regarding beating at Jrashen school

Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding an incident that occurred at the secondary school in Jrashen village, Lori Province.

On February 11, at around 12:00, the Lori Province Operational Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Police received a report that an ambulance team had transported a 13-year-old adolescent with bodily injuries from Jrashen village to the Spitak Medical Center. The boy’s mother stated that her son had been beaten at school by a classmate.

It was revealed that during an altercation in the classroom, the minor was beaten by three classmates. At the same time, it was discovered that the school’s teaching staff had attempted to conceal the actual circumstances of the incident.

It is noted that a mediation motion regarding the case will be submitted to the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (MESCS) on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs.

The minors who beat their classmate, along with the prepared documents, have been presented to the preliminary investigation body. Criminal proceedings have been initiated on the grounds of causing moderate damage to health, as well as failure to perform or improper performance of duties for the upbringing or care of a child.
