Preventive measure changed for Movses Sharbatyan involved in “Sacred Struggle” case

The court has lifted the house arrest previously imposed on Movses Sharbatyan, the assistant to Bagrat Srbazan, leader of the “Sacred Struggle” movement. It has been replaced by administrative supervision.

Sharbatyan must report and register at the Probation Service twice a week. He is prohibited from leaving his place of residence without permission or visiting crowded or entertainment venues. Additionally, he must remain at his residential address from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. The administrative supervision will be carried out without the use of electronic monitoring devices.

The preventive measure of 3 million [AMD] bail and the ban on absence remain unchanged. The court has also not prohibited him from participating in liturgies.

It should be noted that the public prosecutor did not object to the defense’s motion, taking into account Sharbatyan’s health issues, specifically ischemic disease and the need for intensive medical interventions.

In the same “Sacred Struggle” case, the house arrest of Karo Okumushyan has been extended by three months.
