Starting from December 19, the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo will resume its operations

Starting from December 19, the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo will resume its operations. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

On November 30, it became known that the Consul General of Armenia in Aleppo, Ara Avetisyan, continued his work from Damascus. This decision was prompted by the attacks of radical groups on November 28, during which they captured over 20 settlements in Aleppo province.

From December 8, the diplomatic staff of the Armenian Embassy in Damascus and the Consul General in Aleppo had been operating from Beirut.

It should be noted that on December 8, Syria came under the control of opposition forces. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad decided to step down and leave the country.
