The next 3+3 format meeting will take place in Turkey

The foreign ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, and Turkey will meet in Istanbul on October 18. This meeting, aimed at promoting regional peace, focuses on stability and cooperation among the countries. This announcement was made by the Turkish foreign minister.

As in the previous meeting held in Tehran under the same format, Georgia will not be present at this meeting, which is explained by the state of relations between Georgia and Russia.

Following the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the six countries in the region—Armenia, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Georgia—began discussing cooperation through 3+3 format meetings. After the deputy foreign ministers’ preliminary meeting in Moscow in 2021, the foreign ministers of five countries are set to meet in Tehran in October 2023.
