Ararat Mirzoyan Comments on the Full Opening of the Armenia-Turkey Border
Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan responded in the National Assembly to questions about why the border has not yet been opened for citizens of third countries and for holders of diplomatic passports from Armenia and Turkey.
Turkey responded publicly some time ago, essentially stating that they are ready for the full opening of the border. Based on both interactions and public statements, we understand that there are no major obstacles on the path, and we, in fact, do not see any issues either.
Referring also to unresolved points in the peace agreement with Azerbaijan, Mirzoyan noted:
Turkey, however, links the normalization of our relations with the ongoing process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Aside from that, our dialogue is dynamic and substantive. There are various large and small tasks on which we have reached a considerable level of mutual understanding.
