Fake information campaign surrounding the Prime Minister’s name
In recent days, videos supposedly referencing Al Jazeera and Euronews have been actively circulated on the X platform by suspicious users. The videos claim that real estate belonging to RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was damaged as a result of a missile strike in Dubai, UAE.
The Prime Minister’s Office states that the mentioned information does not correspond to reality. Nikol Pashinyan does not own real estate in the UAE or any other country. The figures circulated in the videos, the presented “values,” as well as the comments attributed to the Prime Minister’s spokesperson, are entirely fabricated.
According to the official clarification, we are dealing with a manifestation of a classic mechanism of information manipulation: FIMI (Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference). Specifically, false attribution is employed, using the names of reputable international media outlets to convey a false impression of credibility to the material.
Simultaneously, the synchronized dissemination of content with the same substance from various anonymous accounts has been recorded, as well as accelerated circulation through bot and semi-bot networks to give the topic artificial activity. Mass repetition of the same texts, formulations, and synchronized comments is observed.
Official sources urge the public not to succumb to disinformation and to be guided exclusively by reliable and verified information.
