Armenian chess players won another victory at the World Chess Olympiad
At the 45th World Chess Olympiad, the Armenian women’s national team defeated the Vietnamese team 3-1. Chess players Elina Danielyan and Anna Sargsyan defeated their opponents, while Lilit Mkrtchyan and Mariam Mkrtchyan played a draw. At the moment the team has 8 points.
The men’s team lost to the Chinese team with a minimum score of 2.5-1.5. Shant Sargsyan and Karen Grigoryan brought 0.5 points to the team. Gabriel Sargissian lost to Chinese chess player Yu Yanyi. Team member Hayk Martirosyan drew with reigning champion Dan Liren.
The 45th World Chess Olympiad in Budapest will last 8 more days, from September 10 to 23. Teams from 10 countries from each group qualified for the next round.
