Iran sends a new research satellite into space orbit
On September 14, Iran put into space orbit a research satellite “Chamran-1”. This was reported by the state news agency IRNA. The satellite weighs 60 kilograms and is 550 kilometers above the ground. Ground stations have already received the first signals from the satellite.
Before that, 3 “Soraya” satellites were launched into space in January this year.
Although the satellites, according to Iranian media, are of research significance, they continue to cause negative reactions in Western countries and the US. The latter has previously stated that Iran’s launch of satellites contradicts the UN Security Council resolution. The program is perceived by the West as part of ballistic missile development, which threatens regional and international security.
