European weightlifting champion Samvel Gasparyan has finished his career

Samvel Gasparyan, the two-time gold medalist of the European Weightlifting Championship and bronze medalist of the World Championship, has announced the end of his sports career.

Samvel Gasparyan said that the reason for this decision was the injury to his knee, which he tried to recover through surgery 3 times.

When asked what he will continue to do, the 26-year-old weightlifter said that he does not see himself outside of sports and can stay in the administrative field, which is not a final decision.

The Armenian weightlifter, who is also a three-time silver medalist of the European Championship, said that he went to the competition venue with an injury when he became the champion of the European Championship and the bronze medalist of the World Championship.
