Scammers send fake applications to subscribers and embezzle funds

Team Telecom Armenia warns all its subscribers about a recently emerged telephone fraud.

According to the company’s report, unidentified individuals are calling citizens, introducing themselves as company employees, and claiming that the phone number might be disconnected if settings for supposedly connecting to the 5G network are not performed. Simultaneously, suspicious links and applications are sent via messaging apps, requiring the user to disable security systems and install them.

The company emphasizes that its employees never request the installation of unknown applications, the disabling of security systems, or the provision of banking and financial data.

The statement notes that such numbers are being blocked, and necessary measures are being taken to ensure the protection of subscribers.

The company also reminds that there is no need to install an application to activate the 5G service. In case of questions, subscribers can call the short number 100 or contact the company through its official pages.
