Elon Musk Wants to Launch Starlink in Armenia
During his video message at the closing ceremony of the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) 2024, held in Yerevan, SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk mentioned that he wants to launch Starlink in Armenia.
Musk initially planned to deliver a video message, but instead, his announcement was read live by Armenian-American entrepreneur Razmik Hovaghimian.
In his message, Musk expressed regret for not being able to attend the event:
Hello, everyone. I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to Yerevan this time, but I hope to be there myself next time. I’m excited to bring Starlink to Armenia and work on some interesting projects with the local tech community, ranging from space exploration to the development of open and transparent AI.
Starlink is a satellite internet service that provides high-speed internet access to users worldwide. Musk confirmed that the service will soon come to Armenia, which is expected to significantly improve internet connectivity, especially in remote areas.
