EBIT suspends operation of illegal wells
The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body (EBIT) has uncovered several cases of illegal water use in the Ararat and Armavir regions.
Specifically, in the settlements of Sayat-Nova and Hovtashat in the Ararat region, five citizens operated a total of six deep wells for irrigation purposes without a water use permit.
Similar violations were also recorded in the settlements of Vagharshapat and Apaga in the Armavir region, where water use was carried out illegally from five wells without the corresponding permits.
By the decision of the Inspection Body, the operation of all 11 wells has been suspended.
As a reminder, the illegal use of water resources violates environmental legislation and can lead to administrative liability.
