Most of the Crashed Mopeds Were Driven by Foreign Citizens
This year, around 70 road traffic accidents involving two-wheeled mopeds have occurred.
The Investigative Committee has studied the causes and circumstances of the accidents involving mopeds. As a result of the accidents, the majority of the moped drivers have sustained various bodily injuries, with 2 cases of fatalities recorded. The moped drivers were primarily working for delivery services.
A significant portion of the mopeds involved in the accidents were driven by foreign citizens who did not possess valid driver’s licenses in Armenia.
Recommendations have been submitted to the relevant state authorities.
Recently, the National Assembly passed legislative amendments to regulate traffic using personal transportation devices.
